Yoga Teacher Empowerment Immersion
The internal journey of teaching yoga begins with the mysteries of awakening consciousness, presence, and the power of compassion. Other topics covered during the immersion: energetic healing (chakras), breath cultivation, meditation, finding your authentic voice as a teacher. Ultimately, it will empower you in the way you see yourself as you gain greater understanding and wisdom. Students will find the immersion inspiring, practical and indispensable to their teaching journey.

In this weekend long intensive you will explore many of the more internal aspects of being a yoga teacher. Some of the topics covered during the immersion include: finding your authentic voice as a teacher, leading meditation, breath work, and embodying energetic healing. This inspiring immersion will serve as a practical and indispensable experience in your teaching journey as it activates and nurtures the teacher within and is part of Studio Serenity's Annual Staff Retreat.
THIS IMMERSION WILL ADDRESS SUCH TOPICS AS:
• Teaching as a healing path
• Cultivating your voice as a teacher and trusting yourself
• Teaching from an embodied state
• Cultivating a sense of humor in the classroom; techniques for tension release
• Dealing with certain personal obstacles like the fear of speaking in front of
others, being seen, personal critic
• Learning how to work with what's going on in the room from emotions to energy
transferences
• Learning how to full connect with a student
• Dealing with issues of transference and counter transference
• Disassociation/relating to students as a teacher
• Revealing the masks we hide behind
• Understanding and embracing the shadow, cultivating the light
• Self-care as a teacher; "teacher heal thyself"
TEACHING FACULTY
Michael Schiesser, Katja Brandis

Michael Schiesser is the founder and a member of the board of directors of the Inner Journey Seminars LLC, based out of California. Michael has 28 years of experience in the field of facilitation in the US, Canada, and Europe. Specializing in individual and group dynamics, he is also a life coach as well as a consultant for organizations. A former policeman, acupuncturist, Buddhist monk, and teacher, Michael was involved with several different spiritual schools and walked the path of salvation of the West and the path of liberation of the East. He had the privilege to study and live with a few renowned spiritual teachers of our times from western and eastern traditions. He holds a B.S. in philosophy and an M.A. in psychology.
